Eric Fischgrund is the founder of FischTank PR and driver of its core ethos that clients deserve transparency and honest feedback on their communications and media relations strategies, especially around how to work effectively with journalists and form lasting relationships. For over 17 years, Eric has built his reputation for a very direct approach to client collaboration and PR, and that results speak volumes.
Eric is an entrepreneur at heart, starting his first job at ten years old and first side hustle at age 22 (writing school research papers for lazy high school and college students) in 2006. He has worked both agency-side and in-house, building a reputation as an organizational leader and authority on all things communications and marketing.
Eric graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Minor in Psychology. In 2012, he was named Alumnus of the Year, becoming one of the youngest recipients to ever receive the award. In 2019, he received an 2019 Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the university.
Eric is an outside advisor to Greentown Labs where he counsels early stage companies on all things media relations and corporate communications. He is a sought after speaker by media publishers, event organizers and universities, including with Heatmap News, IMN, ADISA, Shippensburg University, Villanova University and more. His thoughts on marketing and communications have been featured in prominent media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Washington Post, Fortune, Bloomberg, Fox Business, PRWeek, Digiday, Forbes, and many others.
Since 2016, Eric has served as a Committee member and leader at Joseph’s House of Camden, a shelter in south Jersey for those experiencing homelessness. He is also a founding Board Member of the Love for Liam Foundation, a nonprofit driving awareness and support for genetic epilepsy research. He is an advocate for sustainability, healthcare quality and accessibility, social equality and justice, and advancing ideas and technologies that positively impact the world.
Eric is married and has one daughter, one dog and eight chickens. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, fishing, writing, running, being outside, rooting too hard for Philadelphia sports teams and listening to all kinds of music — especially The Black Crowes.
